Release, Balance, Align with Dru Yoga

What is Dru Yoga?

40 years ago, Dru Yoga was created by Yoga teachers and Osteopaths in the UK. It was created by combining ancient yogic traditions with modern movement science and medical knowledge.

This soft and flowing style of Yoga allows you to move and practice Yoga at your level of ability.

Dru Yoga starts with the most accessible version of each Yoga posture. It  supports you to develop awareness of how to best move and mobilise your body.  All movements have a special focus on strengthening your spine, creating more mobility and length in your back.

It is a graceful form of exercise. It offers stress release for body and mind, strengthens your core stability and builds a heightened feeling of positivity and empowerment.

How is Dru Yoga different?

Dru-Yoga is described as a mix of Yoga and Tai-Chi.

At the start of each class, we warm-up and activate to release stress and tension from body and mind.

The gentle and flowing arm movements increase energy flow and mobilise our whole body.

At the end of each Dru Yoga class, a 20 to 30 minute guided relaxation allows your body and mind to rest in stillness.

This quiet time allows your body and mind to find balance and to rejuvenate, recharge and revitalise your whole being.

Why is it so good for me?

Flowing Dru Yoga postures provide a foundation of how our body moves naturally, and they support the body in a remedial way.

Each movement sequence has a specific effect and outcome on our body systems. Combined in a session, they are designed to release stress, align and enhance the energy flow in the spine and calm and centre the mind.

Dru Yoga teaches you to develop awareness of how to move your body so that you feel safe, confident and nurtured.
